IRVING H.
STEINBERG, 99, of
Commerce Township,
died Dec. 1, 2017.
He was a graduate
of Central High School
and Wayne State
University.
Steinberg
Mr. Steinberg was
drafted in 1941 before
Pearl Harbor and
served during the Utah
Beach-Normandy invasion on D-Day
and at the Battle of the Bulge as a major.
He was awarded the Bronze Star and six
Battle Stars.
He and his brother, Gerry Steinberg,
owned Abso-Clean Chemical Company
in Detroit for more than 40 years. He
was an avid golfer and member of Tam-
O-Shanter Country Club for more than
40 years. He was a big fan of University
of Michigan sports.
Mr. Steinberg is survived by his
daughter and son-in-law, Margie and
Barry Wiener; son and daughter-in-
law, David and Joyce Steinberg; grand-
children, Stephanie Steinberg and
her fiance, Jake Serwer, and Lindsay

Steinberg; sister and brother-in-law,
Muriel Wetsman-Brooks and Elihu
Brooks; many loving nieces, nephews
and friends.
He was the beloved husband of the
late Shirley Ruth Steinberg and the
late Shirley Lewis Steinberg; the loving
brother of the late Gerald and the late
Phyllis Steinberg; the dear brother-in-
law of the late William Wetsman; the
devoted son of the late Julius and the
late Belle Steinberg.
Interment was at Clover Hill Park

mother of Leora, Jacob, Devora, Noa,
Ella and Mia.
Mrs. Winter was the beloved wife
of the late Robert Zacher and the late
Harold Winter.
