The annual local Shabbat Project Challah Bake was held Oct. 26 at the
Royal Oak Farmers Market. The event, with similar ones occurring in 65
countries and 500 cities, was planned to bring unity and inspiration to
Jewish women.
More than 900 women and girls participated locally, and each left with
a braided challah to bake at home for Shabbat.
Local sponsors were Partners Detroit, Birmingham-Bloomfield Chai
Center and Aish HaTorah Detroit. •
