In retirement, he and his loving and devoted wife, Barbara, enjoyed traveling, playing bridge and volunteering in the commu- nity. Don firmly believed that his greatest legacy was his family. A lifetime member of Jewish Women Robbins International, a mem- ber of National Council of Jewish Women, Mrs. Robbins recently belonged to Adat Shalom Synagogue and previously was a 42-year member of Congregation Beth Shalom and its sisterhood, from which she recently received an award. She served as a board member of Congregation Beth Shalom Sisterhood, was a membership vice president, edu- cation vice president and corresponding secretary. She also started the Yiddish Club there and was active with the Beth Shalom Cultural Commission. Mrs. Robbins was an avid bowler and was president of her bowling league. She was also a member of the auxiliary for Jewish Home for Aged. Besides being lucky in love, she was extremely lucky in any contest she decided to enter. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Merton Robbins; daughters and sons-in-law, Amy (George Dickstein) Robbins-Dickstein of Farmington Hills, Linda (Brad) Hammer of Newton, Mass.; son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Michelle Robbins of Farmington Hills; grandchildren, Brian Dickstein, Margo Dickstein, Laura Hammer, Jon Hammer, Cara Robbins.
