Mr. Resnick was the beloved husband
of the late Mignon Resnick; the cherished
father of the late Stephen Resnick; the
loving brother of the late Milton Resnick;
the dear brother-in-law of the late Betty
Resnick.

FLORENCE SCHON,
91, of Bloomfield Hills,
died Oct. 23, 2017.
She attended
McCulloch Elementary
and Durfee Junior High
and was a graduate of
Detroit Central High
School and Wayne
Schon
University.
Mrs. Schon taught at Poe Elementary
School in Detroit 1948-49, before devot-
ing her time to her family, politics and
charitable pursuits.
In the 1950s, Mrs. Schon worked to
elect G. Mennen Williams as governor
of Michigan and Martha Griffiths as
Michigan’s first woman in Congress.
Later she taught English to Russian
immigrants and volunteered in many
roles at Congregation Beth Ahm, where
she served as sisterhood president. Mrs.
Schon was a life member of Hadassah
and supported many organizations.
With help from her Yiddish club trans-
lating 60-year old letters, she reunited
with family in Argentina in 2012. After
traveling to Buenos Aires, Mrs. Schon
hosted cousins Raquel Kleizer and
her son Gerardo Pinkus in Detroit and
Washington.
Mrs. Schon was the beloved wife of
the late Jack Schon; cherished mother
of Laura (Richard) Schiller, David Schon
(Mike Brown), the late Joyce Schon and
the late Allan H. Schon; loving grand-
mother of Rachel Schiller (Michael
McWhirter), Emily (Ken) Schapira and
Erica Schiller; proud great-grandmother
of Maxine McWhirter and Huxley
McWhirter; sister of Seymour (Norma)
Lankowsky.
She was the daughter of the late
Aaron and the late Fannie Kaufman
Lankowsky; sister of the late Harry
Lankowsky.
