FRANCYN
CHOMIC, former
Detroiter of
Appleton, Wis.,
passed away Oct. 5,
2017.
She grew up
in Oak Park and
Chomic
attended Ferndale
Schools. She made
lifelong friends
and excelled at
music and theater. Francyn attained
double degrees in performing arts
and teaching at Eastern Michigan
University.
Fran had a wonderful and warm
personality that was welcoming to
all. Many newcomers to the Dexter
area can vouch for that. She was
always willing to join in and partici-
pate and loved meeting new people
wherever she went.
Fran’s biggest love after her family
was theater. She loved to perform,
to act and if she couldn’t do that,
she would direct, produce — any-
thing to be a part of it. She met her
husband while she was a member
of the Rosier Players out of Jackson.
She acted in a few local commer-
cials early in her career and several
stage productions around the Troy,
Pickney and Ann Arber areas, where
she was seen in Vanity, Play It Again,
Sam, Cinderella, Annie, Hello Dolly
and many others. In later years, she
did more directing and producing
in supporting local theater groups.
As her children grew and became
involved in theater also, she became
everyone’s “Drama Momma” in sup-
porting the drama club at Dexter
High School.
Fran loved her family dearly:
daughter, Theresa “Tally” (Kyle)
Patton; and grandson, Oliver, of
Belleville, Mich.; and son, Kyle of
Spring Lake, Mich. She was so proud
of who they became and loved
spending as much time as she could
with them.
She enjoyed the outdoors and
travel, and camping in her RV, hav-

Tamarack Camps mourns the passing
of Harold Gottlieb (z"l) who helped
spread beautiful music throughout
our grateful community.
May his memory be a blessing.

During the coming week, the students of Yeshiva Beth Yehudah
will study in memory of the following departed friends.
In addition, Kaddish will be said during the daily minyan.
