ABOVE: Scenes
from last year’s
fashion show.

emple Israel Sisterhood is gearing up for its 35th
annual fashion show, luncheon and boutiques —
Fashion Fun & Games, on Wednesday, Nov. 8. This
event draws hundreds of women from all over Metro Detroit
for an afternoon of fun and fashion.
Shopping is open to the public with no
admittance fee from 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m. A
great variety of trendy boutiques is on tap,
including clothing, jewelry, accessories and
gift items, even something for pets.
A delicious lunch, prepared by the
Epicurean Group, in Temple Israel’s newly
remodeled Herman Hall is $50 or $75,
including four raffle tickets. Following lunch,
attendees will enjoy a fashion show featuring
Temple Israel celebrity models showcasing
the hottest styles provided by Stein Mart.
Guests are asked to bring a new toy for the
Bottomless Toy Chest. Sisterhood is proud to
partner with this worthy organization that
provides toys to pediatric cancer patients in
the area. Sisterhood will be donating the lun-
cheon centerpieces along with new toys and
games collected at the event.
The annual raffle, held during lunch, fea-
tures local products and businesses and is
one of the highlights of the afternoon. This
year will be no exception as the grand prize
is a cooking demo and dinner for up to 20
people at Annabel Cooks Detroit, value
$1,200. Raffle tickets can be purchased with
luncheon reservation or separately. For more
information or to purchase raffle tickets,
contact TISisterhoodOnline@gmail.com.
This event is Sisterhood’s largest fund-
raiser of the year and helps make it possible
for Sisterhood to provide: camp scholarships
for teens, monthly bingo games for the resi-
dents at the West Bloomfield Nursing Home,
blankets and lap pads for seniors in need,
Chanukah candles and Purim hamentashen for religious
school students, community education and wellness pro-
grams, generous contributions to worthy nonprofit organiza-
tions and so much more.
