there are plenty of fall-inspired menus and food-filled events
to explore. No matter your age or the size of your appetite,
start the season off on a high note at one of these delicious spots.

This award-winning establish-
ment has meat and seafood down
to a science, but its vegetable-
laden dishes are easy to overlook.
Executive Chef Derek Watson’s fall
menu features a bounty of sea-
sonal produce. The Goat Cheese
Salad with crisp Granny Smith
apples, mixed nuts and a delicious
raisin spread atop baby greens is
delightful, while the zesty Orange
Cauliflower is perfect for sharing.
Several heartier dishes rule the
newer menu, including the vegan
and gluten-free ratatouille or zuc-
chini bread with smoked pearl
onions, puffed rice and zucchini
purée. A handful of vegetarian
dishes like the Bistro Salad and
Mushroom Pave can be swiftly
adjusted to suit vegan eaters.

Eager to sip on seasonal beer? This
fall, craft beer fans can indulge
in Axle Brewing Company’s new
Caramel Ale, Oktoberfest Ale and
more at the Livernois Tap.
For a fully festive experi-
ence, tickets are available for an
Oktoberfest event on Oct. 14. For
$35, guests can indulge in two beers
of their choice, plus unlimited soft
pretzels or sausage variations pre-
pared by Executive Chef Elliot Patti
and the Grey Ghost team. “We are
thrilled to showcase our chef ’s take
on traditional German food along
with the usual revelry,” says presi-
dent of Axle Brewing Co. Dan Riley.

Tired of the same old restaurant pit
stop on those busy weeknights? This
quaint sibling of the Romira’s City
Grill in Troy is just shy of a month
old and open for business. The space
offers a sleek look with black and
gray hues, plus comfortable booths
and tables to fit your entire crew.
Even with a picky eater on your
hands, there are plenty of kid-
friendly favorites. Visitors with more
advanced palettes can sink their
teeth into bubbling hot Saganaki or a
bowl of savory chili to start. For main
dishes, Amity City has 11 salads to
choose from, plus wraps, deli sand-
wiches, burgers and all-day breakfast.
Dinner features include gyros, chick-
en kabobs, stir-fries and more. While
diner-style restaurants are aplenty
in Metro Detroit, Amity City is a step
above the rest.

the café’s newly obtained liquor
license, diners can now pair a
glass of wine, cider or locally
brewed beer with their tempeh
burger.
Owner Nick Raftis selected
beverages with health-conscious
patrons in mind, featuring pours
from Elie Wine Company. This
Southeast Michigan winemaker
produces some of the finest
organic bottles available. Veg-
heads can also gear up for an
upcoming cocktail menu, set to
be released in time for winter.
