BARRY ALLEN
BLAUER, 68, of
Huntington
Woods, died
Sept. 26, 2017.
He was active
in the commu-
nity as a Berkley
Blauer
School Board
member, in the
Huntington
Woods Men’s Club, the Royal
Oak Optimists Club and the
Berkley Rotary Club. He also
walked to raise money for the
Susan G. Komen 3-Day Relay for
Life and March of Dimes Walk
America.
Mr. Blauer loved to golf, bowl,
play bridge, sail and work in
the yard. He approached the
diagnosis and symptoms of ALS
with grace and gratitude, con-
tinuing to walk to the library
every day to choose books, as
well as spend time enjoying his
children and grandchildren.
Mr. Blauer is survived by his
wife, Ellen Blauer; children,
Matthew Jacob Blauer and his
fiancee, Amber Button, Jennifer
Rachel and Toby Kmet, Heather
Elizabeth Blauer and her part-
ner, Benjamin Roxberry, and
James Andrew Blauer; grand-
children, Claire Minette Blauer,
Jackson James Blauer, Lazarus
James Kmet and Dexter Allen
Kmet; siblings, Sandra and
Robert Blattberg, Paul Blauer
and Sally Meitz, Avra and Blair
Williams; aunt, Bryna Broder;
former daughter-in-law, Mandy
Lynn Tefft; Amber’s son, Chase
James Button; many loving
and loved nieces, nephews and
cousins; his second family at
the Susan G. Komen 3-Day.
