Catch The Sukkah Mobile

Settle in for an evening in the suk-
kah and learn all about Sukkot with
NEXTGen Detroit Interfaith Couples
at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10, at Temple
Beth El in Bloomfield Township.
Rabbi Megan Brudney of Temple
Beth El will share insights into this
fall festival that celebrates both the
sheltering of the Jewish people in the
desert as well as the autumn harvest.

installed the doors gratis to ensure
the building — a longtime staple of
the community — was restored to
its former glory.
“A sanctuary, regardless of its
denomination, needs a door,”
Zalenko said. “An open door wel-
comes in the community and the
ability to close the door makes you
feel safe. Of course, what good is
a door if it’s not installed? That’s
where my friends at Brewster
stepped up to the plate.” •

The front doors to the historic
Bethel Community Transformation
Center have returned to the build-
ing after a multi-year absence. The
doors, at the former Temple Beth
El at Woodward and Gladstone in
Detroit had once been removed for
rehabilitation, a costly project that
didn’t fit current budgetary limita-
tions. Magnificent and beautifully
designed, the doors stand 14 feet
high and 36 inches wide, and come
in two sections. Through the help of

and local company Brewster

its 75th birthday with a special guest,
nationally recognized psychic medi-
um Rebecca Rosen, at 7 p.m. Monday,
Oct. 2, at the temple.
Rebecca Rosen is a psychic medium
who has served as a bridge between
this world and those who have
crossed over to the other side for the

past 10 years. Her work has led to
many guest appearances, including
on Entertainment Tonight, The Rachael
Ray Show and Nightline, and her first
book, “Spirited: Connect to the Guides
All Around You.”
