Israel in West Bloomfield on
Saturday, Sept. 16. She will be joined
in celebration by her brother Elijah
and proud grandparents Dina and
Alex Amcheslavsky, Yzalina Nowicki
and Gregory Ferqueron.
Eden is a student at Birmingham
Covington School in Bloomfield
Hills. Among her many mitzvah
projects, she found it most mean-
ingful to combat food insecurity
in our community by volunteering
at Temple Israel’s Free Fresh Food
Pantry.

Eddie Maxwell
Berlin will lead the
congregation in
prayer as he
becomes a bar
mitzvah at Temple
Israel in West
Bloomfield on
Berlin
Saturday, Sept. 16.
Joining in his cele-
bration will be his
proud parents, Leslie and Jonathan
Berlin, and brother Sam. Eddie is the
loving grandchild of Linda and
Arthur Berlin, Marsha Radner and
the late Gerald Radner.
He is a student at Norup
International School in Oak Park.
Among his many mitzvah projects,
Eddie found it most meaningful to
collect new and gently used sports
equipment for donation to Let’s Play
It Forward, a nonprofit organization
that distributes equipment to chil-
dren and organizations in need.

Sarah Grace
Cantor, daughter
of Michelle and
Glenn Cantor, will
lead the congrega-
tion in prayer on
the occasion of her
bat mitzvah at
Cantor
Temple Israel on
Friday, Sept. 15.
Joining in her cele-
bration will be her siblings Rachel
and Henry. Sarah is the loving
grandchild of Alice and the late

Seymour Cantor, and Ellen and the
late Dr. Charles Tenner.
She is a student at Norup
International School in Oak Park. As
part of her mitzvah project, Sarah
participated in Walk in Her Shoes
by Care International, a week-long
virtual walk challenge during which
she walked 10,000 steps a day to
raise funds to support CARE pro-
grams that empower women and
girls. Sarah raised the third-highest
amount in donations for this inau-
gural event.

mitzvah at Temple
Israel on Saturday,

her celebration will

ents, Wendy and
Brian Starr, and sis-
ter Jayme. She is the loving grand-
child of Hilary Mellin, Lloyd and the
late Arlene Starr, and Candy and
Terry Rosen.
Erin is a student at Hillel Day
School of Metropolitan Detroit in
Farmington Hills. Among her many
mitzvah projects, she found it most
meaningful to volunteer each week-
end with Mrs. Lucy at Turtle Creek
Farm, where she assisted with the
feeding and care of the animals.

Zachary Ryan

become a bar mitz-
vah on Saturday,
Sept. 16, at Adat
Shalom
Synagogue in
Farmington Hills
Wittenberg
He will be joined on
the bimah by his
proud parents,
Stacey and Marc Wittenberg, and
brothers Sam and Jonah. Also shar-
ing this special occasion will be
Zach’s grandparents Dr. Ronald and
Anita Taylor, Sidney and Eileen
Bradley, and Larry and Carol
Wittenberg.
Zach is a student at West Hills
Middle School in Bloomfield Hills.
His most meaningful mitzvah proj-
ect is collecting used sporting equip-
ment for the Sheriff Police Athletic
League.
