HAPPY HEALTHY
NEW YEAR!

& places

On Sunday, Aug. 20, more than 400 people enjoyed the Shaarey Zedek
Yom Truck (truck day) museum. Children and their parents were able to
sit in a firetruck, meet Southfield firefighters, learn about what they do
and receive firefighters’ hats. They played in a S.W.A.T. mobile unit and
climbed on tractors. They honked the horn of the big green Tamarack
bus and heard the sirens of an ambulance.
They also visited a DTE truck, a limousine, an excavator and listened
to the music of Star Trax. Train rides around the parking lot were a high-
light of the day. Families brought canned food donations and filled a
Forgotten Harvest truck, enjoyed Kona ice cool treats and jumped in a
construction bounce house.
Yom Truck was sponsored by Congregation Shaarey Zedek in
Southfield and co-sponsored by Hillel Day School in Farmington Hills. •
