The directory has been designed for Jews to locate a sukkah near to them so that they can go there to eat. The idea of this service is not to list every sukkah, but to try and have a sukkah listed for every area in which Jewish people may find themselves during Sukkot. The main focus of this service is to enable people who work on Chol-Hamoed to eat lunch in a sukkah that is close to their place of work. I thought he had the personality to bring support to others. So, I took classes for him to be licensed and he passed the test! When I began seeking opportunities to work with him, JVS was listed on the Therapy Dogs International website. When I called JVS, it just so happened they had an opening at the Dorothy and Peter Brown Jewish Community Adult Day Program. The idea of this project is merely to promote achdus (Jewish unity), and to help other Jews. There is no charge for this service. If you have a sukkah that you would like to register, you can do so by sending an email with the details to register@localsukkah.org. • The programs are very rich and the attention the staff gives each client is amazing. We’ve had a couple of cases of people who were distanced until they interacted with Connor. The staff and I could see the change immediately…the smiles and the difference it made in their day. In mid-August, the facade received a much-needed facelift through power wash- ing the exterior along with painting the metal ornamental spandrels and fourth-floor window exterior frames, thanks to a grant from the William Davidson Foundation.
