She is survived by her husband,

LOIS WERTHEIMER
LIPNIK, 93, of Bonita
Springs, Fla., died Aug.
24, 2017.
Formerly of
Bloomfield Hills, Lois
was a graduate of
Denby High School,
Lipnik
where she enjoyed
entertaining in the
theater and on radio.
She graduated
Northwestern University with a bach-
elor of science in speech and later from
Wayne State University, where she earned
her master of arts degree.
Mrs. Lipnik enjoyed her time as presi-
dent of the Student Governing Board at
Northwestern, president and founder of
Northwestern Independent Association
and as a member of the Red Cross War
Council and Student Body Council. She
was president of several subdivisions. In
Naples, Fla., she shared her talents and
experience as president of the Naples
Players Theatre Guild, committee mem-
ber of the NCH Foundation, Salvation
Army Advisory Council, and as a board
member of the Naples Philharmonic and
Artis-Naples.
She was a lifetime Mensa member and
had a lifelong passion for learning, which
contributed to her brilliant bridge play-
ing. She enjoyed boating and traveling

with her husband. She was the center
of attention, the life of the party and the
“belle of the ball.”
Mrs. Lipnik was the daughter of the
late Rose Coggan Wertheimer and the
late Jack Russell Wertheimer. She is sur-
vived by her devoted husband of 70 years,
Dr. Morris J. Lipnik; daughters, Susan
(John) Bustard of Havertown, Pa., and
Carol (Jerry) Sebastian of Estero, Fla.;
grandchildren, Jamie (Jason) McNatt,
Stephen (Annie) Viola and Julia (Mark)
Laird; great-grandchildren, Katherine
Viola, Colin and Rory McNatt, and Jordan
Laird; many friends and colleagues.
