flict, Mr. Chudnow
was a past member

B’nai David and
was active with the
B’nai David Cemetery. He was also
a past president of the Oak Park
Jaycees, an election commissioner
in Oak Park and a member of the
Centennial Lodge of B’nai B’rith.
Mr. Chudnow is survived by his
wife of 58 years, Sharon Chudnow;
children, Alan and Edie Chudnow
of Arizona, Laurie Chudnow of
Oak Park, Steven Chudnow of Oak
Park; brother, Herman Chudnow;
grandchildren, India Rose Chudnow,
Octavia Michele Chudnow; broth-
ers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Judith
and Sydney Weinstein, Gary and
Maxine Mondshine, Deyna Detroit
Vesey, Norma Chudnow.
He was the dear brother and
brother-in-law of the late Harry and
the late Rose Chudnow, the late Ann

CARL GONTE, 68,
of Southfield, died
Aug. 9, 2017.
He was a devoted
family man: coach-
ing Little League,
participating in
band boosters and
Gonte
attending his daugh-
ter’s and grandson’s
sporting events. He
enjoyed bowling and
tending to his garden and flowers.
Carl retired from Ford Motor
Company, where he had worked as a
draftsman for 29 years. He took pride
in his coffee club. He was an Army
reservist and a past member of the
Jewish War Veterans. He was an avid
blood donor through the American
Red Cross.
Mr. Gonte is survived by his wife
of 46 years, Gail Gonte; children,
Lori Gonte of Southfield, Corrine
and Jeff Cecil of Southfield, Lisa and
Jim Thomas of Taylor; brothers and
sisters-in-law, Barry and Cindy Gonte,
Allen Gonte and Jackie Foster Gonte;
sisters and brothers-in-law, Pamela
and Dan Miller, Francine and Marc
Wise; grandchildren, Randall and Kelli
Gillentine, Camryn Boeling. He is also
survived by Joy Harris; many loving
nieces and nephews, great-nieces,
great-nephews, other relatives and
friends.
Mr. Gonte was the dear brother of
the late Linda Perlman; loving son of
the late Samuel and Roselyn Gonte.
