2017.
She is survived
by her beloved

son-in-law, Susan and Rod Frishman-
Harrell; sisters and brother-in-law,
Janice Smith, Paula and Joel Smith;
grandchildren, Sarah, Sam, Jacob,
Mindy, Bradley, Branden, Holly and
Hunter; many loving nieces, nephews,
other family members and friends.
Mrs. Frishman was the sister of
the late Marcia (the late Morton)
Gerst; the sister-in-law of the late
Seymour Smith.
Interment took place at Adat
Shalom Memorial Park Cemetery in
Livonia. Contributions may be made
to Reverence Hospice. Arrangements
by Dorfman Chapel.

ELAINE GIRSH, 83,
of Farmington Hills,
died Aug. 1, 2017.
She was a long-
time member of
the Birmingham
Bloomfield Art
Association.

Mrs. Girsh is
survived by her
daughters and sons-in-law, Lorie
(Joel Eisenberg) Girsh of North Hills,
Calif., Julie and Peter Borish of New
York, Carol and Bill Pidto of West
Hartford, Conn.; grandchildren,
Isabel Borish, Harley Borish, Eliza
Borish, Maggie Pidto, Sylvie Pidto;
sister-in-law, Sylvia Ashby.
She was the beloved wife for 61
years of the late Sheldon Girsh; lov-
ing sister and sister-in-law of the late
Roslyn and the late Lester Stein, the
late Cliff Ashby, the late Leonard
Girsh.
Contributions may be made

to Camp, 6735 Telegraph Road,
Bloomfield Hills, MI 48301. Interment
was held at Machpelah Cemetery in
Ferndale. Arrangements by Hebrew
Memorial Chapel.

GOLDMAN, 91, of
Franklin, died Aug.
1, 2017.
She was born on
Nov. 3, 1925, in St.
Louis, Mo. Doris
Goldman
grew up in Detroit,
the daughter of
Marion and Jack Rothberg and sister
of Howard Rothberg. She attended
Central High School and Western

College for Women.
Doris was a generous philanthro-
pist and volunteer involved with
many charitable organizations,
including National Council of Jewish
Women, Orchards Children’s Services,
Gray Ladies of Sinai Hospital and
Girl Scouts of America. Doris was
a Humanist Jew, a member of the
Birmingham Temple.
Mrs. Goldman, cherished widow of
the late Irving E. Goldman, is survived
by her daughters, Carol Klein and
Meg Kasdan; their husbands, Mitchell
Klein and Lawrence Kasdan; four
grandchildren, Jake Kasdan and his
wife, Inara George, Jonathan Kasdan,
Jackson Klein and his fiancee, Dara
Bernstein, and Natalie Klein; three
great-grandchildren, Otis, Lorelei and
Beau Kasdan.

ALAN P. GOLDSTEIN, 93, passed
away on June 10, 2017.
He was born in Detroit in 1924,
served in the U.S. Army in World War
II and graduated from the University
of Michigan Law School in 1950. He
practiced law in Detroit for 40 years
before moving to Palm Springs, Calif.,
in 1991. A lifelong member of Temple
Israel, he was a past president of its
Brotherhood.
Mr. Goldstein was preceded in
death by his son, Daniel. He is sur-
vived by his wife of 62 years, Doris;
daughters, Linny Frickman of Denver
and Peg Goldstein of Palm Springs;
son-in-law Carl Frickman; daughter-
in-law, Jill Miller; granddaughters,
Caroline Frickman, Allison Frickman,
Jessica Goldstein and Elizabeth
Goldstein.
A family graveside service was held
at Desert Memorial Park in Cathedral
City, Calif.
