Weitzman of West Bloomfield
will celebrate their 50th wed-
ding anniversary on July 23. They
were married during the Detroit
riots of 1967. Helping them cel-
ebrate will be their children, Jeffrey
Weitzman, Marcie Zoref, Aaron and
Caryn Weitzman; and their grand-
children, Alex and Madison Zoref,
Ethan, Drew and Stella Weitzman;
and mother, Sara Berlin. •

Mogill 100th

D

r. George Mogill will turn
100 on July 28. A legendary
physician and teacher, he
began his workdays playing squash
with medical students, followed
by seeing patients, teaching and
Irma’s dinners. Retired at 92, he
recently attended his 75th Wayne
Medical School reunion. Dr. Mogill
will be honored with an aliyah and
luncheon at Congregation Shaarey
Zedek in Southfield on Saturday, July
29. George will throw out the first
pitch at the Aug. 24 Tigers game.
Celebrating with him will be his
children, Jain and Carl Lauter, David
Mogill, Liz and Ken Silver; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and
many friends •
