Technology And Spring At Hillel

Hannah Schwartz with her
creation

thursday, july 20

On May 21, families from across the Jewish com-
munity spent the afternoon “learning by doing”
at Hillel Day School’s most recent maker event,
“Tech-Bloom.” Curious learners of all ages played
with electronics such as littleBits, made bugbots
(bug robots) and created flowers that lit up with
LEDs. Participants also made edible art, and milk
and honey bubble bath to take home.
Additionally, they spent time in the greenhouse
and had the opportunity to purchase plants
grown this year by Hillel’s students.
“Thanks to everyone who supported this event,
participants and volunteers alike,” said Dawn
Straith, Hillel’s Maker Space coordinator. •
