gardens of the Hofstra University Club
in Hempstead, N.Y. Joining in her cele-
bration were her proud grandparents
Nancy and Dr. Albert Korby of
Farmington Hills, and Carole Elenko of
Bronx, N.Y. She is also the grand-
daughter of the late Stuart Elenko.
For Lexie’s mitzvah project, she vol-
unteered weekly as a peer mentor for
children with autism. She found this
experience to be most rewarding and
hopes to pursue a career as a special
education teacher.

his bar mitzvah on
Saturday, June 24, at
Temple Kol Ami in
West Bloomfield. He
is the son of Mike
Graff
and Lisa Graff, and
the grandson of
Lorna Graff of Brentwood, Tenn.
Lukas attends Abbott Middle School
in West Bloomfield. His mitzvah proj-
ect honored his recently deceased pet,
Hogan; Lucas collected more than
600 towels and blankets and donated
them to the Michigan Humane
Society. He will continue this through
June (donations may be dropped off at
Abbott Middle School). His goal is to
collect 1,000 items.

Saturday, June 17, at
B’nai Israel
Saperstein
Synagogue in West
Bloomfield. He is the
brother of Miriam and Sammy and the
grandson of Sharon and Jerry
Knoppow, and Lynda and the late
Stanley Saperstein.
Josh has been an active participant
in PeerCorps for several years, and
volunteered this year at two urban
farming sites: Ile Oko and Voices for
Earth Justice.

lead the congrega-
tion in prayer as she
becomes a bat mitz-
vah at Temple Israel
Stern
in West Bloomfield
on Saturday, June 24.
She is the loving grandchild of Arlene
and the late Ronald Stern, Carolyn
Godur and Jamie Godur.
Eryn is a student at West Hills
Middle School in Bloomfield Hills.
Among her many mitzvah projects,
she felt it most meaningful to volun-
teer at the Fleishman Residence in
West Bloomfield, where she played
games, organized art projects and
interacted with the seniors.
