Sarah Emily Calanchi, daugh- ter of Debbie and Reuben Calanchi, will read from the Torah as she becomes a bat mitzvah at Temple Calanchi Israel in West Bloomfield on Saturday, June 3. Joining in her celebration will be her brother Ryan and proud grand- parents Rena and Ronald Weintraub, and Alicia and Enrique Calanchi. Sarah is a student at Novi Middle School. She organized a fundraiser in memory of Randi Schreiber, from which all funds raised were donated to Duke University Hospital Lung Research Center. For this project, Sarah handcrafted rainbow string friendship brace- lets for donors to wear in honor of Randi’s love of rainbows and colorful personality. She found this to be the most meaningful of her many mitzvah projects. Jaclyn Rachel Cohen will be called to the Torah as she celebrates her bat mitzvah on Saturday, June 3, at Congregation B’nai Moshe in Cohen West Bloomfield. She is the loving daughter of Elaine and Paul Cohen and sister of Samantha. Joining in her celebra- tion will be her proud grandpar- ents Marlene Kaufman, and Herbert and Harriet Cohen. She is also the granddaughter of the late Stephen Kaufman and the late Cecile Cohen. Jaclyn attends Clifford Smart Middle School in Commerce Township. Her most meaningful mitzvah experience was volunteer- ing with her family at Yad Ezra in Berkley. Goldberg Paige Michelle Goldberg will chant from the Torah as she becomes a bat mitzvah at Temple Israel in West Bloomfield on Friday, June 2. Sharing in her cel- ebration will be her proud parents, Cortney and David Goldberg, and siblings Rachel and Jacob. Paige is the lov- ing grandchild of Sheila and the late Mickey Goldberg, Beverly Kelly and William Kelly. She is a student at Berkshire Middle School in Birmingham. As the most meaningful of her many mitzvah projects, Paige will donate a portion of her bat mitzvah gifts to the DMC Children’s Hospital of Detroit. Riley Claire Gutman, daughter of Lesley and Andy Gutman, will lead the congregation in prayer as she celebrates her bat mitzvah at Temple Gutman Israel in West Bloomfield on Saturday, June 3. She is the loving grandchild of Lorene and Mark Gutman, Sharon Baker, and Joni and the late Ray Pevos. Riley is a student at James R. Geisler Middle School in Commerce Township. For her mitzvah project, she prepared jewelry and organized a sale from which all proceeds were directed to For the Love of Cats rescue organization Jordyn Lindsay Tobias, daughter of Jennifer Tobias and Josh Tobias, will lead the con- gregation in prayer on the occasion of her bat mitzvah at Tobias Temple Israel in West Bloomfield on Friday, June 2. She will be joined in celebration by her brothers Justin and Jared and proud grandparents Nancy and Rick Rosenthal, Arlene and Joe Keros, and Donna Tobias. Jordyn is also the grandchild of the late Dr. Jerry Tobias. She is a student at West Hills Middle School in Bloomfield Hills. As her most meaningful mitzvah project, Jordyn, an avid gymnast, chose to collect and donate leo- tards to Left Over Leos for less for- tunate gymnasts.
