is also survived by her loving com-
panion and caregiver, Cheryl Ann
Edwards.
Ms. Davidson was the beloved
wife of the late Joel Zacks, the cher-
ished mother of the late Steven
Zacks, the devoted daughter of the
late Abraham and the late Esther
Schaengold, the loving daughter-in-
law of the late Meyer and the late
Hannah Zacks, dear niece of the late
Sarah Dworman, and the loving sister
of the late Walter Schaengold Drake.
Interment was at Machpelah
Cemetery. Contributions may be
directed to Alzheimer’s Association-
Greater Michigan Chapter,

ROBERT ELLIS, 95,
of West Bloomfield,
died May 15, 2017.
Mr. Ellis attended
Walsh Institute until
he was drafted into
the U.S. Army dur-
ing World War II.

Ellis

His infantry unit landed in France on
D-Day plus six and he participated
in the liberation of the Netherlands.
During his career as a steel salesman
and then a steel broker, he mentored
many young men who sought his
guidance and instruction.
Mr. Ellis is survived by his wife of
61 years, Gloria Ellis; daughter and
son-in-law, Wendy and Christopher
Janes; sons and daughters-in-law,
Jeffrey and Lori Ellis, and Richard
and Carol Ellis; grandchildren, Craig
and Randi Janes, and Michelle,
Joshua, Devin and Jeremy Ellis. He is
also survived by many loving nieces
and nephews.
Mr. Ellis was the loving brother
of the late Sydney Ellis and the late
Shirley Haas, the devoted son of the
late Isadore and the late Rose Ellis,
and the dear brother-in-law of the
late Carolyn Ellis, the late Martin
Haas, the late Bernard and the late
Anne Burrow, and the late Louis
Burrow.
Interment was at Adat Shalom
Memorial Park. Contributions may
be directed to Temple Shir Shalom,
Rabbis Discretionary Fund, 3999
