Pruchno
SAMUEL PRUCHNO, 90, of Southfield,
died April 10, 2017.
He was vice president of Normac, a tool
and die company, and retired at age 75
after a very successful career.
Mr. Pruchno fulfilled his dream of
becoming an artist and depicted the hor-
rors of the Holocaust in seven works of art
that are on loan at the Holocaust Museum
in Farmington Hills. His paintings bear
witness to his experiences, involved a
great deal of research for the details, and
serve as educational tools about discrimi-
nation and anti-Semitism.
He also co-authored Resilience – from
Shavl to Southfield via Dachau, his biog-
raphy written by his daughter, Marcia
Pruchno Lawrence. Additionally, he was
involved with serious Torah study with
Rabbi Menachem Greenfield.
