Emunah BBG Bat Mitzvah

SAMMI TREPECK SPECIAL TO THE JEWISH NEWS

On April 28, the BBG chapter Emunah
will be turning 13. In the Jewish reli-
gion, this calls for a bat mitzvah, a
time where a young girl transitions to
adulthood. Our chapter has decided
to take this idea and showcase the
progress and strength our chapter it
has shown as it has grown. The girls of
Emunah BBG and Rabbi Jen Lader will
lead a bat mitzvah service at Temple
Israel.
In conjunction with the service,
there will be a party on Saturday
where we will be raising money for
our chapter as well as collecting non-
perishable goods to be donated to
Forgotten Harvest. This is very impor-
tant to us because one of the aspects
of a bat mitzvah includes doing a
mitzvah, and this is a great opportu-

nity to give back.
The party is going to act just like
your typical bat mitzvah party, with
music, dancing, food and a giveaway.
The event costs $18 in advance, but
$25 at the door.
To put on this event, we had mul-
tiple FUNdraisers throughout the
year. They were very diverse, includ-
ing Leo’s, Naked Fuel, Mixed Bags and
Cycle & Row. We also are currently
selling Scrunchies and portable char-
gers to help fund the event. These are
all very different so we could attract
the largest audience possible.
This event is open to all Jewish
teens from grades 8-12.
