DR. WILLIAM ELSON SHELL, 74, passed
away March 28, 2017, following a massive
stroke.
Dr. Shell, born in Detroit in 1942, was
a graduate of the University of Michigan
Medical School.
From 1982 to 1995, Dr. Shell was a
member of the cardiology staff at Cedars-
Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, Calif.
While there, he led the team that discov-
ered the cardio specific enzyme CK-MB.
Dr. Shell was happiest when gardening
in his backyard, tending to his roses, being
a photographer, gourmet cooking, spend-
ing time with his dogs and engaging in
intellectual conversations with those he
loved.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa; his chil-
dren, Jeff, Stephanie, Dana and Daniel; his
eight grandchildren; his brother, Richard.

CECEILA TENENBAUM, 96, of
Southfield, died March 25, 2017.
She is survived by her children, Brenda
Apt, Jeffrey and Marsha Tenenbaum, and
David and Madeline Tenenbaum; grand-
children, Esti Apt, Tali and Lauren Apt,
Dini Apt, Elissa Tenenbaum, Nechami Ita
Tenenbaum, Yehudah Leib Tenenbaum,
Nosson Tenenbaum and Yisroel Zev
Tenenbaum.
Mrs. Tenenbaum was the beloved wife
of the late Nathan Tenenbaum; dear
mother-in-law of the late Eli Apt.
Interment was at Hebrew Memorial
Park Cemetery. Contributions may be

Jeanette, Southfield, MI 48075; or Yeshivas
Darchei Torah, P.O. Box 2044, Southfield,
MI 48076. Arrangements by Hebrew
Memorial Chapel.

CORRECTION

The obituary for Lawrence Cohen (March
30) should have indicated that he was
the brother and brother-in-law of the late
June and late Arthur Zuckerman, the late
Millie and the late Charles Michaels.
