Victor is the great- grandchild of the late Rose and Ruben Slovis, the late Adele and Saul Berger, the late Vicki and Seymour Wimpfheimer, and the late Janet and Joseph Liebman. Victor is a student at Cranbrook Kingswood Boys’ Middle School in Bloomfield Hills. Among his many mitzvah projects, he found it most meaningful to raise funds for North Star Reach Camp, which offers free life-changing camp experiences for children with seri- ous health challenges. He is the son of Brian and Miriam Halprin and the broth- er of Samuel. Joshua’s grandpar- ents are Stan and Shirley Halprin, Adele (Gaba) and Oscar Band, and the late Leonard Gaba. Joshua is a student at Bloomfield Hills Middle School. Among his mitzvah projects, he acted as a mentor for his brother’s First Lego League team. The bride, 30, works as a digi- tal marketing manager for Sony Pictures Entertainment. She graduated from Arizona State University. She is the daughter of Maureen Mayer of Vail, Colo., and Delray Beach, Fla., and Bruce Cohen of Tampa, Fla. Her mother is a medical management consultant and co-owns the MDMC Group with her husband, the bride’s stepfather, noted investor relations strategist Austin Wing Mayer. The groom, 36, is an attorney and works as the director of audit and client services at Warner/Chappell Music Inc. He graduated from the University of Michigan and received his J.D. from Tulane University Law School. He is the son of Joan Brode of Huntington Woods and the late Dr. Herbert Brode. His mother is a retired school teacher and dedicated community volunteer. The groom’s father was an oral surgeon. The couple plan to honeymoon in Italy and reside in Los Angeles, Calif. • Cohen-Dahlen L inda and Rick Cohen of Franklin are excited to announce the engagement of their daughter Meredith Cohen to Rabbi Yoni Dahlen, son of Kermit and Mari Kaptain-Dahlen of Hinton, Iowa. Meredith received her B.S.W. at Michigan State University, her master of social work at University of Michigan and her Juris Doctor from Wayne State University Law School. She practices family law, utilizing various alternative dispute resolution methods such as family mediation and collaborative law. Yoni earned his B.A. from Augustana College in Sioux Falls, S.D., his mas- ter of arts in Jewish philosophy at Brandeis University, Waltham, Mass., and was ordained at the Jewish Theological Seminary of New York.
