He served dedicatedly for nine years with the Ann Arbor Federation and the Jewish com- munity. Among his accomplishments: initiating the Michael Levine Fellows Program to help create the next genera- tion of leaders in the community; creating the Jewish Community Impact Fund, which has allowed individuals and agencies to strengthen community through novel pro- grams and events; and supporting and growing many suc- cessful programs, including the Michigan Israel Business Bridge and the Eastern Michigan University Center for Jewish Studies. Brett Powell, 31, received three honors recently. He was acknowl- edged by the Wellness Councils of America, a pres- tigious nonprofit Powell organization, as being one of the Top 50 Health Promotion Professionals in the United States. He was also voted to be on the Michigan Wellness Council Board of Directors. Finally, Former District Court Judge Jodi Debbrecht Switalski has joined Lippitt O’Keefe Gornbein PLLC Switalski as an of-coun- sel attorney focused on legal issues related to opioid abuse. A legal expert in the field of substance abuse and addiction, Switalski served as a Michigan district court judge from 2010 until 2016 and previously was an assis- tant prosecuting attorney in Macomb County. She also is the founder of Switalski Consulting LLC, a firm providing evidence- based controlled-substance agreements, as well as risk eval- uation and mitigation strategies for medical practices. he was asked to give a speech on generational health and wellness at an international Art and Science of Health Promotion Conference being held in Colorado Springs in March. Brett has been involved in the well- ness field for 10 years and presently serves as a vice president at the American Institute for Preventive Medicine in Farmington Hills.
