I’m a custom airbrushing artist who’s
been practicing since 1991 and working
professionally at it since 1994. Though
T-shirts are among the most popular items
that people ask for, I can paint on any
material that will hold paint such as cotton,
leather, wood, most metals and several other
materials. For parties where the items are
given away such as birthday parties, or bar/
bat mitzvahs, lettering is usually the most
popular request, which usually consists
of two words and a small design. With the
help of my colleague, I’m usually able to do
at least 100 shirts within four hours. When
there are multiple items being painted on,
the items are provided by the customer
and discussed at the time of the request.
For more upscale events like wedding
receptions, anniversary parties, retirement
parties, etc., people usually like to watch
me do large-scale portraits. The portrait is
usually of the guest of honor, but can be of
anyone that I’m provided a clear picture of at
least a day or so before the party. I specialize
in lettering and portraits, but I’m still able to
paint just about anything.
