He is survived by

Arthur was the brother-in-law of
the late Morris Neuvirth.

FRIEDMAN, 72, of
Farmington Hills,
died Jan. 29, 2017.
Helene was a
teacher in the
Detroit Public
Schools and
Friedman
retired after 34
years of service.
She received a letter from then-
President George W. Bush con-
gratulating her on her retirement
and career in the field of educa-
tion. She was also a life member of
Jewish Women International and
bowled with them for more than
35 years.
She is survived by her beloved
husband of 50 years, Gilbert
Friedman; brothers-in-law and
sisters-in-law, Eugene and Vivian
Friedman, Elaine and Mark
Lavetter. She is also survived by
many nieces, nephews, cousins;
great-nieces, great-nephews and
cousins, and other loving family
members and friends.
Helene was the loving daughter
of the late Max and the late Pearl
Abrams, and the sister of the late
Linda Abrams.
Interment was held at the
Workmen’s Circle Cemetery in
Clinton Township. Contributions
can be made to the American
Diabetes Association, the
American Kidney Fund or to
any charity of one’s choice.

JACK KOSSOF, 97, of Ypsilanti,
died Jan. 30, 2017.
He is survived by his son and
daughter-in-law, Mark and
Maureen Kassof of Ann Arbor;
grandchildren, Katia Kassof and
Mitchell Wonboy; and many nieces
and nephews.
Mr. Kossof was the beloved hus-
band of the late Susan Kossof and
the last of six children of the late
Isaac and the late Ann Kossof.
Interment was at Westlawn
