to announce the engagement of
their daughter Rachel Weber to
Christopher Powell, the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Lawrence Powell, and
Ms. Shirley Powell. Rachel is the
granddaughter of Zita Weber and
the late Leo Weber, and the late
Nathan and Bertha Novograd.
Rachel earned her bachelor of
science from Wayne State University in community health education. She is
employed with Beaumont Health.
Christopher earned his bachelor of arts from Temple University and his
master of arts from Wayne State University in dispute resolution. He is
employed at Wayne State University and volunteers at the Wayne Mediation
Center.
A September wedding is planned in Grand Haven. The happy couple
reside in Grosse Pointe. •

Rebecca Orvell, daughter of
Gabriella Ibieta and Miles Orvell
of Philadelphia, Pa.
Jeffrey earned his B.A. from
the University of Michigan in
Ann Arbor and his J.D. from the
Benjamin N. Cardozo School of
Law at Yeshiva University in New
York. He is employed as an assis-
tant prosecuting attorney for the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office.
Ariana earned her B.A. from Columbia University in New York and is a
Ph.D. candidate in social psychology at the University of Michigan in Ann
Arbor.
A July 2017 wedding is planned in Philadelphia. •
