More than 300 people attended the lighting of an 11-foot menorah on the second
night of Chanukah at the Franklin Cider Mill. The Dec. 25 event was organized by
Chabad of Bingham Farms and Farmington Hills, which collaborated with Jewish
schools across Metro Detroit.
Artist Ariel Cummings created the menorah, which was decorated by more than
300 tiles made by students and others. The evening was highlighted by music, an
eclectic menu from chili to sushi, and, of course, hot apple cider. •
