M ANDELL (B ILL ) B ERMAN z’l

One of the founding supporters of
The Jewish Hospice & Chaplaincy Network

Bill was a defining member of The Greatest Generation. He earned B.A. and M.B.A.
degrees from Harvard University before serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II,
followed by an extraordinary career in the building industry. Bill cared deeply about the
welfare of Jewish people in our community. Generations of students benefited from his
profound vision, stewardship and philanthropy of local and national Jewish educational
causes. We deeply appreciate his passion for helping the sick, the frail and those facing
health crises. Bill’s leadership and generosity helped create and sustain numerous institutions
in our local Jewish community, including his beloved Congregation Shaarey Zedek, and
other causes throughout the world. His immeasurable legacy sets a high standard and
example for future generations to follow.

The Executive Committee, Board, Administration and Staff of

T HE J EWISH H OSPICE & C HAPLAINCY N ETWORK
offer wishes of comfort and heartfelt condolences to Bill’s family:
his loving wife of 66 years, Madeleine (Madge) Berman;
