Registration is open for the Winter II Session of our Academies,
with classes running January 3-February 28, 2017. Whether you’re
interested in acting, crafts, music, sports, or swimming, there’s an
opportunity for anyone eager to learn and ready to be challenged!

2017 JCC Maccabi Games & ArtsFest - Tryouts
Wednesday, January 4 - Wednesday, January 25
Do you have a teenager between the ages of 13 and 16 looking
for a fabulous Jewish experience? JCC Maccabi Games & ArtsFest
is a week-long program where teenagers stay with host families,
socialize with more than 1,000 other Jewish teenagers, and compete
in a sport or learn from an Artist in Residence.
The 2017 Games will be held in Birmingham, AL and Miami, FL.
“Essence of Life” - Janice Charach Gallery
Sunday, January 8 - Thursday, February 9
Opening Reception: Sunday, January 8 | 1-4 p.m.
“Essence of Life” is an all-media exhibition featuring artwork focusing
on the Jewish holiday of Tu B’Shevat. Jewish and non-Jewish artists
of all media are included, showing artwork reflecting growth,
renewal and nature.
Additional events and programming will be held during this time
to compliment the exhibit, including a coloring workshop, hand
lettering workshop, and Tu B’Shevat seder.
Coloring, Chocolate and Conversation IV
Thursday, January 19 | 1 p.m.
Meet at the Janice Charach Gallery at 1 p.m. for a tour of “Essence of
Life,” then join us in the Library at 1:30 p.m. for a wonderful coloring
workshop! In addition to coloring pages, we will offer symbols and themes
from Tu B’Shevat, and snacks will include food eaten on the holiday.
