David and Susan Ostreicher of Ann Arbor, formerly of
Cincinnati, Ohio, are thrilled to announce the birth of their
daughter, Esther Anne Ostreicher. Sharing in their happiness
are big brother Sol and proud grandparents Barbara and Jim
Schroer of Wyoming, Ohio, and Laura and Ron Ostreicher of
West Bloomfield. Esther Anne is named in loving memory of
her great-great-grandmother Ellen Smith and her great-grand-
mother Anne Wedes.

New to Metro Detroit
Becoming a bar or bat mitzvah
Newly married

Madeline Ann Guoju Moss, daughter of Janis Moss, will lead

the congregation in prayer on the occasion of her bat mitzvah
at Temple Israel in West Bloomfield on Saturday, Dec. 17.
Sharing in her celebration will be her sisters Amanda and
Alexis, and proud grandmother Florence Herrmann. Madeline
is also the grandchild of the late Harvey Herrmann.
Madeline attends East Hills Middle School in Bloomfield
Hills. As part of her mitzvah project, she donated food and
towels to the animal rescue organization All About Animals in
Auburn Hills.

Balagur 100th

A

drienne Wormser Balagur turned
100 on Dec. 12. She was born and
raised in New York City, graduated
Phi Beta Kappa from the University of North
Carolina-Greensboro, worked as a buyer at
Macy's and married Lester Balagur when he
returned from military service in Europe.
They raised four children in Freeport, N.Y.,
where she lived until moving closer to fam-
ily at age 90. She now lives near her younger
daughter in Royal Oak. Her children, grand-
children and friends will celebrate with her
later this month.
