On Nov. 13, just days after the presiden-
tial election, political commentator Jack
Lessenberry spoke to an overflow crowd
at Temple Emanu-El in Oak Park about
the election, saying that not since the
Dewey vs. Truman election more than 60
years ago did the media get it so wrong.
Lessenberry, head of Wayne State
University’s journalism department, pre-
dicted Trump will roll back regulations
on businesses and that the Affordable
Care Act won’t be repealed immediately.
More than any election in our lifetime,
he said, we really don’t know what else
will happen.

Chanukah songs, Chef Cari and her
food truck and beeswax candle making
sponsored by Hazon. The event is open
to the public and free of charge. For
details, contact Rabbi Herschel Finman
at (248) 798-5082 or visit www.

Lessenberry meets with congregants.
He suspects the promised wall
between the U.S. and Mexico won’t be
built and that it’s unlikely Roe v. Wade
will be overturned, despite Trump hav-
ing a Supreme Court appointee to name.
The event was sponsored by the
Temple Emanu-El Adult Education
Committee.
