ore than 500 volunteers
came together on Nov. 6 —
the 20th anniversary of Fall
Fix Up — to ensure the older adults
served by Jewish Family Service were
prepared for the winter months.
Kids, teens and adults gathered in
the morning at Congregation Shaarey
Zedek in Southfield before heading
out to rake leaves, wash and winterize
windows and enjoy a day of beautiful
weather helping neighbors in need.
A group of young adults helped to
clean up debris at B’nai David Cemetery
in Detroit. And students in grades 6-12
gathered at Adat Shalom Synagogue
in Farmington Hills to enjoy pizza and
prepare snack packs for the JFS hospi-
tality closet before going to their own
block party and raking and prepping
more homes in the afternoon.
