the occasion of her bat
mitzvah at Temple Israel

West Bloomfield.

and Cameron (C.J.). Carly is the loving
grandchild of Lisa and Robert Gittleman,
Ruth and Glenn Doolittle, and Diana and
Patrick Finerty.
Carly is a student at West Hills Middle
School in Bloomfield Hills. Among her many
mitzvah experiences, she found donating
to the Clean Water Project to be the most
meaningful.

the Torah as a bar mitzvah
at Temple Kol Ami on Saturday, Nov. 12.
He is a seventh-grader at Sarah Banks
Middle School in Wixom. His mitzvah proj-
ects were meaningful and included playing
chess with the seniors at Meer Apartments in
West Bloomfield.

Joshua Ross Geller of
West Bloomfield will
become a bar mitzvah on
Saturday, Nov. 12, at Adat
Shalom Synagogue in
Farmington Hills.
Participating in the cere-
mony will be his parents,
Geller
Rachel and Benjamin, and
his sister Isabelle. Proud
grandparents are Barbara and Dr. Stephan R.
Morse of Franklin. Josh is also the grandson
of the late Rochelle Joyce and the late Howard
Geller.
Josh is a seventh-grade student at Hillel
Day School of Metropolitan Detroit in
Farmington Hills. For his mitzvah project, he
enjoyed volunteering with PeerCorps Detroit,
where he helped with gardening at Eden

Gardens and worked with young children at
Mission City.

Miles Hirsch

Mia Olivia Hirsch and Miles Devin Hirsch,
children of Franci and Greg Hirsch, will
share the bimah at Temple Israel in West
Bloomfield Saturday, Nov. 12, as they cele-
brate their b’nai mitzvah. Sharing in their
celebration will be their sister Brayden and
proud grandparents Helene and Harold
Lewis, and Margie and Michael Hirsch. They
are also the loving great-grandchildren of
Evelyn Lipitz.
Mia and Miles are students at Walnut
Creek Middle School in West Bloomfield.
They are raising a future leader dog for the
blind and raised funds to support this special
organization as part of their most meaning-
ful mitzvah project.

Mison

Ava Nicole Mison,
daughter of Julie and
Christopher Mison, will
lead the congregation in
prayer as she celebrates
her bat mitzvah at
Temple Israel in West
Bloomfield on Friday,

Nov. 11. She will be joined in celebration
by her sister Alexandra and proud grand-
parents Walter Mison and Margie Reid.
Ava is also the grandchild of the late Laura
and the late Richard Grandon, and the late
Tamara Mison. Her great-grandparents are
the late Mildred and the late Leo Grandon,
the late Esther and the late Max Rubin.
Ava is a student at Clifford Smart
Middle School in Commerce. As part of
her mitzvah project, she collected dona-
tions of “grab-and-go bags,” which contain
comfort items and toiletries for children
removed from their homes and placed in
foster care. She found this to be exception-
ally meaningful as many of these children
enter foster care with only the clothes on
their backs.

Emily attends Warner Middle School in
Farmington Hills. As part of her mitzvah
project, she volunteered time for programs
for children with special needs at the
Friendship Circle in West Bloomfield. She
found this experience to be very meaning-
ful.

Bloomfield on Saturday,
Nov. 12. She is the loving
grandchild of Rochelle and Saul Lenhoff,
and Betty and Stanley Wise, and great-
grandchild of Shirley and Robert
Schweiger.
Hannah is a student at Hillel Day School

of Metropolitan Detroit in Farmington
Hills. As her most meaningful mitzvah
project, she volunteered every day for the
entire camp session as an assistant camp
counselor at Camp Gan Israel.

Langberg-Chalew

ois and Mark Langberg of
Bloomfield Hills are thrilled
to announce the marriage of
their son Sam Langberg to Hannah
Chalew, daughter of Gail and Stuart
Chalew of New Orleans, La. Sam is
the grandson of Helen and Harold
Langberg, and the late Evelyn and
Isadore Silverman. Hannah is the
granddaughter of Ralene and the late
Sidney Chalew, and the late Selma
and Gerard Naron.
Sam and Hannah were wed in the
New Orleans Botanical Gardens. They
were joined at the chuppah by their
siblings, Laura and Anson Smuts,
Andy Langberg, Talia and Justin
Abbott-Chalew, Naomi Chalew and
Matt Jensen, and Ari Chalew, as well
as nieces and nephews, Solomon,
Sasson and Noa Abbott-Chalew.
Sam and Hannah met in New
Orleans and live in Woodbridge,
Detroit. Hannah is an artist who
recently received her M.F.A. from
Cranbrook Academy of Art. She has a
studio in Highland Park and teaches
at College for Creative Studies. Sam is
an emergency physician completing
an ultrasound fellowship at Detroit
Receiving Hospital.
