NONPROFITS LEADERS
MINGLE WITH KADIMA

Craft at Bastone in Royal Oak was
packed for Kadima’s first KAN
(Kadima Ambassador Network) event
held on Sept. 29.
The goal of the nonprofit network-
ing event, sponsored by Korotkin
Insurance Group, was to bring togeth-
er various nonprofit professionals and
lay leaders — as well as individuals
looking for ways to become involved
— in order to share resources and
opportunities and learn more about

services to all people with mental
health needs.
“This was a great way to promote
Kadima’s services and volunteer
opportunities with the community
while helping local nonprofits to share
their organization’s mission with oth-
ers,” said Anne Perry, Kadima outreach
and special events coordinator.
The next Kadima KAN event is
scheduled for Jan. 13, at Mirepoix
Cooking School at Holiday Market. For
details, visit Kadimacenter.org or call

PARTY TO MARK IMERMAN ANGELS’ 10TH YEAR

When Detroit native Jonny Imerman
contracted testicular cancer in 2006,
little did he know that 10 years later,
the world’s leading one-on-one can-
cer support agency, Imerman Angels,
would bear his name. The international
organization is now based in Chicago,
but Imerman will be back in Detroit to
celebrate the agency’s 10th anniversary
at the Blue & White Party from 6-9 p.m.
Thursday, Nov. 3, at Fifth Avenue Royal
Oak, 215 W. Fifth Ave., Royal Oak.
The evening will feature appetizers,
select cocktails and an exciting raffle.
Proceeds benefit Imerman Angels’ mis-
sion to provide free, personalized con-
nections that enable one-on-one support

among cancer fighters, survivors and
caregivers.
“While Imerman Angels celebrates
this milestone anniversary, we’ve only
just begun to fulfill our mission,” says
CEO and Executive Director Ben
Bornstein, a three-time cancer survivor
and Ann Arbor native. “Millions of peo-
ple will continue to be diagnosed with
cancer, but they will never have to face
it alone as we fight against this disease
together.”
Tickets to the party are $30 in advance
or $35 at the door. For tickets, visit bit.
