DAVID B.
HOLTZMAN, 81, of
Bloomfield Hills, died
Oct. 12, 2016.
He was born in
1934 in Detroit. He
worked in the family
business, started by
Holtzman
his father and uncle,
as a builder of thou-
sands of homes and
apartments in the Detroit area, Southern
Illinois and Southern Indiana.
He was a calm man with a sense of
humor who was devoted to his family,
loved classic cars and took great pleasure
in working with his hands: building, fix-
ing, making. An enthusiastic art collec-
tor, classical music lover and movie goer,
David could also often be found tinker-
ing with farm equipment at his property
in Vermont, a place that is loved by the
many friends and relatives who knew
there was always an open invitation for a
visit or stay.
Mr. Holtzman is survived by his
daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and
David Frankel of Hastings, N.Y., and
Karen Holtzman and Tom Gardon of
Somerville, Mass.; son and daughter-
in-law, Daniel and Arlene Holtzman
of Cambridge, Mass.; grandchildren,
Alexander Frankel, Emma Frankel,
Joseph Holtzman and Samuel Holtzman;
sister, Rosalie Sosnick.
He was the beloved husband for 60
years of the late Dr. Deanna “Deedie”
Holtzman; loving brother of the late Toby
Holtzman; dear brother-in-law of the late
Jay Sosnick.
Interment was at Clover Hill Park

than 30 years. Mrs.
Kushner
Kushner was a teacher
for the deaf and hard
of hearing.
She is survived by her sister-in-law,
Sue Winick; niece and nephew, Dr.
Michael and Cindy Winick, Lori Winick
Green and Mark Green; other loving
relatives and friends.
Mrs. Kushner was the beloved wife of
the late Herman Kushner; loving sister of
the late Harold Winick.

Bloomfield, died Oct. 14, 2016.
She is survived by her son and daugh-
ter-in-law, Jim and Lynn Medalie; daugh-
ter, Sally Shapiro; grandchildren, Allison
Shapiro, Brent Shapiro, Philip Medalie
and Susan Medalie; sisters-in-law, Rhoda
Berman and Vera Medalie.
Mrs. Medalie was the beloved wife
of the late Dr. Morris “Bob” Medalie;
the cherished mother of the late Russell
Medalie; the loving sister of the late
Prisilla Lyons and the late Walter Israel;
the dear sister-in-law of the late Alec
Berman, the late Philip Medalie and the
late Leon Medalie.
Interment was at Beth El Memorial
