RT Michigan held its eighth
annual Camp Hermelin
fundraiser on Sept. 18 when
Doreen Hermelin’s home in Bingham
Farms was transformed into “camp
grounds” with 12 camps and 15 activity-
based businesses running activities
throughout the day.
More than 800 people attended,
including kids, parents and grandpar-
ents. All were able to relive their camp
experiences and reconnect with camp
friends, staff and directors.
The Suburban Collection served as the
Presenting Sponsor, with 15 other corpo-
rate sponsors underwriting the event.
Event co-chairs Carole BenEzra,
Melissa Feldman and Shayna Levine and

their committee planned an afternoon
of fun-filled activities, including arts
and crafts, sports, dance, tug-of-war and
roasting s’mores.
Thirteen camps raffled off discounted
and free camp tuition for the summer
of 2017, and the Camper’s Choice Raffle
gave away $2,500 credit to be used
toward any day or overnight camp and/
or organized trip taking place during
2017.
Proceeds from Camp Hermelin will
benefit students of ORT’s Kfar Hassidim
Youth Village in Israel.

Camp Hermelin attendee Emily
Sherman enjoys aerial yoga led by
Born Yoga.

Camp Hermelin co-chairs Shayna Levine
and Jamie Garavaglia, regional director
of operations and sales at Orangetheory
Fitness, and Committee Member Lindsey
Maddin show off Orangetheory’s sign as
sponsor of ORT’s Camp Hermelin Raffle.
