NEW AT THE TOWNSEND
This fall, the Townsend Hotel will unveil
its newest dining and event space, the
Clancy Room, located in the former
Corner Bar space (100 Townsend St.,
Birmingham). The room is named for
the late Daniel E. Clancy of Perlmutter
Freiwald Inc., the renowned interior
designer and dear friend to the hotel and
its staff.
The new hospitality space is an
impressive 2,000 square feet, designed
specifically for mixed use, be it group
dining, private meetings or intimate
events. The flexible floor plan can
accommodate anywhere from 30 to 150
guests, and is designed to cater to any
number of celebrations or functions.
Catering will be provided by the culinary
team behind the hotel’s award-winning,
fine dining restaurant Rugby Grille.

INN SEASON FETES 35 YEARS
Royal Oak’s Inn Season Cafe is celebrat-
ing its 35th birthday — making it the
longest-running vegetarian and vegan
restaurant in Metro Detroit (500 E.
Fourth St.). To thank their customers
for so many successful years, a number
of events and giveaways are scheduled
throughout the month of October.
Anyone who visits the restaurant on
Oct. 1 will be entered for a chance to
win a $50 gift card, and custom-
ers who buy a $50 gift card from
Oct. 4-8 will pay their special
birthday price of just $35. As the
month rolls on, free dinners will
be given away on the restaurant’s
Facebook page, special three-
course dinners will be served
and a happy-hour fundraiser
will be held on Monday, Oct.
24, to benefit Earthworks Urban
Farm. Inn Season is Royal Oak’s
only kosher restaurant, certified by
Kosher Michigan.
SAVE THE DATE
Mark your calendar for the “Victory
Gala” in support of the Michigan World
War II Legacy Memorial at Royal Oak’s
Memorial Park. Join active duty military,
veterans and their families for the eve-
ning on Thursday, Oct. 13, 6:30-10:30
p.m. at the Royal Oak Farmers Market
(316 E. 11 Mile Road). WDIV Local 4
anchor Guy Gordon will serve as master
of ceremonies, and the fundraiser will
feature a strolling dinner, live music and
both silent and live auctions.
Don’t miss your chance to bid on
a flight on one of the few remaining
WWII-era B17 bombers, The Yankee
Lady. It’s also an opportunity for this
kvelling grandson to see his grandfather,
Arthur Fishman, recognized with a spe-
cial award for his military service. With
questions or to purchase tickets, email
debi.hollis@michiganww2memorial.org
or (888) 837-4157.
