Orthodontic Health Month!

grandparents Andrea and Lex Byers,
Trudie and Lawrence Goldfarb, and
Claudia Rutledge. William is also the
great-grandchild of the late Marilyn
Schwartz.
William attends Michigan Great
Lakes Virtual Academy based in
Manistee. Among his many mitzvah
projects, he found the most meaning-
ful was to donate his time to help in
the Flint water crisis by delivering
cases of water and personally installing
water filters in homes in Flint.

Bella Zoey Gottlieb,
daughter of Amy and
Bryan Gottlieb of
Huntington Woods,
will celebrate her bat
mitzvah on Saturday,
Sept. 24, at Young
Israel of Southfield.
Gottlieb
Joining Bella will be
her siblings, Joely
and Ari; grandparents, Elaine and Dr.
Harvey Sabbota, and Arlene and Alan
Gottlieb; and her very proud great-
grandmother, Gloria Dunn, 93.
Bella is a seventh-grader at Hillel
Day School of Metropolitan Detroit in
Farmington Hills.

Grekin, surrounded

Center. She is the
loving daughter of Tara and Dr. Steven
K. Grekin and sister of Andrew.
Meredith is the grandchild of Dr.
James A. Grekin, the late Dr. Jacqueline
Grekin, and Carolyn and Harry
Schaefer.
She is a student at the Roeper School
in Birmingham. As part of her mitz-
vah project, Meredith volunteered at
the Free Fresh Food Pantry at Temple
Israel to help combat hunger in our
community; she found this to be very
meaningful.

Adam Benjamin
Krugel, son of Ellen
Paborsky Krugel and
Noah Krugel, will
become a bar mitzvah
at Temple Israel in
West Bloomfield as he
reads from the Torah

on Saturday, Sept. 24.
He will be joined in
celebration by his brother Jesse and
proud grandparents Anita and Harry
Paborsky, and Sally and Richard Krugel.
Adam is a student at James R. Geisler
Middle School in Walled Lake. As part
of his mitzvah project, he volunteered at
the Safety Town program, which teaches
pre-kindergartners various aspects of life
safety. He found this to be a very reward-
ing experience.

Estee Grace Moss

for her bat mitzvah on
Saturday, Sept 24, at
Congregation
Shaarey Zedek in
Southfield. Sharing in
Moss
the simchah will be
proud parents, Leigh
and Jeffrey Moss, and older brother Ben.
Also sharing in the simchah will be
delighted grandparents Linda and
Kenneth Lenchner, Norman Moss, great-
aunts and uncles Carol and William
Barbour, and Nancy and Steven Epstein.
Estee is also the granddaughter of the late
Susan and the late Arthur Rodecker, and
the late Mark and the late Elaine Dones.
Estee is an eighth-grader at Bloomfield
Hills Middle School. For her mitzvah
project, she enjoyed volunteering with
PeerCorps Detroit, where she tutored
and mentored schoolchildren at Mission:
City in Detroit.

Alex Dylan Shapero
will become a bar
mitzvah on Friday,
Sept 23, at Temple
Israel in West
Bloomfield. He will be
joined by his proud
parents, Nancy and
Shapero
Tony Shapero, along
with siblings Joey and
Andie. Alex is the grandchild of Ida
Senzer, the late Michael Senzer, Rhoda
Shapero, and Arnold and Nancy Shapero.
Alex attends Berkshire Middle School
in Birmingham. Among his many mitz-
vah experiences, he volunteered for Pitch
in for Baseball, which focuses on the col-
lection and distribution of new and gen-
tly used baseball and softball equipment,
which is then given to youth leagues in
underserved communities.

For those who don't know, October is National Orthodontic Health Month.
This is a month long event organized by the American Association of
Orthodontists, or MO. During October, members of the American Association
of Orthodontists (MO) conduct a wide range of activities to educate dentist,
orthodontists and their patients about protecting their teeth during Halloween,
as well as share information about the benefits of orthodontic treatment.

Drs. Nelson "Nick" Hersh, Marsha Beattie and Amy Isenberg realize that this is
a great opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of oral hygiene.
National Orthodontic Health Month also aims to recognize the dedicated
work of orthodontists like Drs. Hersh, Beattie & Isenberg
