the occasion of her
bat mitzvah at
Temple Israel in
West Bloomfield on
Saturday, Sept. 17.

She is the loving
daughter of Amy and
Jason Brooks, and sister of Brandon.
Sharing in her celebration will be her
proud grandparents Aaron Brooks,
Judith Colton, and Richard and Didi
Colton. Natalie is also the grandchild
of the late Suzanne Brooks.
She is a student at Walnut Creek
Middle School in West Bloomfield. As
part of her mitzvah project, Natalie
conducted a can and bottle drive
to raise funds to provide ski school
scholarships to children at Antrim Ski
Academy in Northern Michigan. An
avid ski racer, Natalie found this proj-
ect to be very meaningful.

on Friday, Sept. 16.

He is the loving son
of Julie and Andrew
Goldstein, and brother of Kate and
Rachel. He will be joined in celebra-
tion by his proud grandparents Leba
and Sanford Rautbort, and Alice and
Martin Goldstein.
Max is a student at Berkshire Middle
School in Beverly Hills. As part of his
many mitzvah projects, he volunteered
at the Friendship Circle Soccer and
Basketball Clinics. He found this expe-
rience to be very rewarding.

Bloomfield. Alex is the great-grand-
daughter of Janet Weiss of Sherman
Oaks, Calif., and Honora Lipson of
West Bloomfield, as well as the late

George and Francis Lipshaw. She is
named in loving memory of her pater-
nal great-grandfather Alex Lipson and
maternal great-grandmother Sadie
Levin.

as a bar mitzvah
Saturday, Sept. 17, at
Katz
Adat Shalom
Synagogue in
Farmington Hills. Evan is the grand-
child of Lou Seligman and the late
Madelon Seligman; great-grandson of
Mary Must and the late Sharon Katz.
Evan is a student at West Hills
Middle School in Bloomfield Hills. His
most meaningful mitzvah project was
volunteering at the West Bloomfield
Relay for Life.

Brett Reid Katzen,
son of Tracey and
Jeff Katzen, will
become a bar mitz-
vah at Temple Israel
in West Bloomfield
as he reads from the
Torah on Saturday,
Katzen
Sept. 17. He will be
joined in celebration
by his siblings Jared and Cami. Brett is
the loving grandchild of Sandee and
Bernie Glieberman, and Linda and Al
Katzen, and great-grandson of
Gertrude and Berl Zicherman.
He is a student at Clifford Smart
Middle School in Commerce
Township. For part of his mitzvah
experience, Brett used his own funds
to pack and deliver hospitality bags
for the South Oakland Shelter resi-
dents staying at Temple Israel. He also
arrived at Temple Israel early in the
morning to make and serve a pancake
breakfast to the residents.
