Molly Goldberg, Liza Goldberg, Ryan
Rossini, Diego Sanchez and Xavier
Benjamin Sanchez; sister, Annette
Levin; sister-in-law, Pauline Joffe. She
is also survived by Sue Smock, Sue
Marx and her loving caregiver, Lynn
Johnson.
Mrs. Marx was the beloved wife of
the late Jerome Marx; the cherished
sister of the late Sylvia Freshman and
the late Seymour Joffe; the dear sister-
in-law of the late Reuben Levin; and
the devoted and loving companion of
the late Ben Nathanson. She was also
predeceased by the late Stanley “Hank”
Marx.
Interment was at Beth El Memorial

(NEE KALUZNY)
ROTHENBERG, of
Gary, Ind., passed
away suddenly Aug.
17, 2016.
She was born
in Detroit on Feb.
Rothenberg
25, 1944, to Shy
and Rose Kaluzny.
Marlene graduated
from Cooley High School in 1962
and was a member of the Di Delta Di
sorority. When Marlene was 13 years
old, she met Jerry Rothenberg; she
was his “Pussycat.” Four years later,
they were married. For the next 54
years, they created a wonderful fam-
ily and life together in Gary.
Marlene loved living in Gary and
was very active in her community.
She was involved with and a life-
time member of Hadassah, a board
member of Temple Israel of Gary, a
former sisterhood president for six
terms. Also, she managed the temple
gift shop for more than 40 years, was
involved with the Jewish Federation
of Northwest Indiana, made home-
made chocolates and enjoyed playing
Scrabble with her family. She was
extremely proud of her nine grand-
children, and they all loved spending
time with her.
Mrs. Rothenberg is survived by the
love of her life, Jerry; their children,
Jeff (Joani) Rothenberg, Terri (Bob)
Chmara and Lisa (Michael) Giglio;
grandchildren, Leela, Ben Tamir,
Maya and Tal Rothenberg, Jake, Alex
and Jamie Chmara, Moe and Elaine
Giglio; brother, Larry (Barbara)
Kaluzny; sister, Jan Schaefer; many
nieces, nephews, cousins, friends;
granddog, Amy.
She was preceded in death by her
youngest daughter, Julie.
NAOMI SANDLER, 79, of Royal
Oak, died Aug. 23, 2016.
She was born in Detroit to Louis
and Ann Cohen. She was a longtime
resident of Huntington Woods and
spent many years caring for her
mother. Naomi met Marshal Sandler
and they fell in love. They married
and spent many happy years, taking
walks and drives together. She often
mentioned it was the happiest time
of her life. Naomi was a devoted wife
and a good friend to many.
Interment was at Beth El
Memorial Park. Contributions may
be made to a charity of one’s choice.

ROSE SCHREIBMAN, 89, of San
Diego, Calif., formerly of Livonia and
Boynton Beach, Fla., died Aug. 21,
2016.
She is survived by her daughter
and son-in-law Arlene and Keith
Fink; son and daughters-in-law, Eric
and Jan Schreibman, and Maura
Schreibman; cherished grandchil-
dren, Cayla Schreibman, Chelsea
Schreibman and Arie Schreibman;
brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dr.
Martin and Marla Schreibman; lov-
ing nieces and many friends.
Mrs. Schreibman was the loving
wife of the late Harvey Schreibman;
and devoted mother of the late
Mitchell Schreibman.
