Daniel Zimmerman and Amanda Sacks-Zimmerman of
Manhattan, N.Y., joyfully announce the birth of their son,
Jonah Samuel (Yonah Shmuel). Proud first-time grandpar-
ents are Lonny and Gail Zimmerman of West Bloomfield,
and Michael and Frances Sacks of Manhattan. Thrilled
great-grandma is Eleanor Dorfman of West Bloomfield.
Jonah Samuel is named in loving memory of all four of
Zimmerman
his great-grandfathers: His first name honors paternal
great-grandfather Joseph Dorfman and maternal great-
grandfather Noah Liebowitz; his middle name remembers
maternal great-grandfather Samuel Sacks and paternal great-grandfather
Milton Zimmerman.

be joined in celebration by her proud
grandparents Jamie and Tony Grauer,
and Beth “Peedee” and Sherman
Freund. Isabelle is also the
grandchild of the late Helene Grauer.
She is a student at Clifford Smart
Middle School in Commerce. As part
of her many mitzvah experiences,
Isabelle collected canned goods for
food banks to help combat hunger
in the community. She found this
experience to be very meaningful.

Jonathon. Jack is the grandchild of
Samuel and the late Deborah Green,
and Valerie and the late Dr. Samuel
Indenbaum.
He is a student at Berkshire
Middle School in Birmingham.
For his most meaningful mitzvah
project, Jack organized and
participated in the Three Friends
Three Hearts fundraiser to assist less
privileged children in Detroit.

Israel in West Bloomfield on Saturday,
Sept. 3, as they celebrate their b’not
mitzvah. They are the loving children of
Lauren and Eric Gurvitz. Joining in their
celebration will be proud grandparents
Linda and Allan Gurvitz, and Martin
Kleinbart. Abby and Jessica are also
the granddaughters of the late Judith
Kleinbart.
Abby and Jessica are students at
Norup International School in Berkley.
Of the many mitzvah projects they took
part in, each felt that by volunteering for
the Special Olympics they were able to
make a real difference in others’ lives,
which was very rewarding.
