Dermatology and is a fellow of the
American Academy of Dermatology.

Kathleen N. Straus, a member of the Michigan State Board of
Education for nearly 25 years, will receive the National Association
of State Boards of Education (NASBE) David Kysilko Award for
her dedication to state boards of education and their important
work. Straus has served three eight-year terms on the board,
including six two-year terms as board president. She has also been
vice president and secretary of the Michigan board. An active
member of NASBE, Straus has served on the NASBE Board of
Straus
Directors as central area director as well as on the Government
Affairs Committee and several study groups. An active member
of her community, Straus was a member of the board of trustees of the Michigan
Roundtable for Diversity and Inclusion and the advisory board of the American
Jewish Committee.
