metro » FREE CAR WASH, COFFEE AID FRIENDSHIP CIRCLE Friendship Circle of West Bloomfield has partnered with Super Car Wash Systems to provide customers a free drive-through car wash in support of the upcoming Walk4Friendship. From 11 a.m.-2p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21, Walk4Friendship yard signs, magnets and walk information will be distributed to all customers at two Super Car Wash locations, 30775 12 Mile, Farmington Hills, and 31295 Woodward, Royal Oak. The goal is to surpass last year’s numbers by 100 cars. Complimentary Starbucks coffee and lemonade will be available. Friendship Circle has been providing assistance and support for more than 3,000 families of children with special needs since 1994. Josh Sherbin of Bloomfield Hills was elected to his second term as president. Re-elected officers are Vice President of Marketing Allison Parr of Bloomfield Hills, Vice President of Programming Fran Bell of Orchard Lake, Vice President of Membership Keith Lublin of West Bloomfield and Vice President of Finance Scott Mazius of West Bloomfield. Newly elected board members are Michelle Bayer of Bloomfield Hills, Barry Levine of West Bloomfield and Eric Tilds of Bloomfield Hills. Re-elected to an additional board term are Shari Dobrusin of Bloomfield Hills, Joel Hechler of West Bloomfield and Lyle Wolberg of Huntington Woods. All members will serve for three years. This year’s event will be at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 15, at the synagogue in West Bloomfield and will include face painting, bouncies, games and train rides. Over the past year, Shir Shalom developed a partnership with Coleman A. Young Elementary School in Northwest Detroit, and families from the school will be joining the festivities this year.
