SILVERBERG, of Hollywood, Fla., origi- nally of West Bloomfield, died July 17, 2016, in his Hollywood Hills home surrounded by his loving children and family. Mr. Silverberg was a Silverberg pioneer in the Detroit advertising industry, serv- ing as a senior vice presi- dent and creative voice at Doner Advertising in Southfield for 44 years. He won many local and national awards for his imagina- tive and impactful work, including “Best of Show” by the Creative Advertising Club of Detroit, the Andy Award by the Advertising Club of New York; he was also nominated for a CLIO award for one of his national televi- sion ad campaigns. Mr. Silverberg’s passing was deeply felt by many friends and colleagues in the Detroit Metropolitan area, with overwhelming responses and comments such as: “Dale was my first mentor — truly a kind, clever hall- of-fame ad man, proud parent, unrepentant punster and animal lover.” “He was kind, gentle, loving and a giant among men. A brilliant writer who mentored countless oth- ers who became excellent writers because of him.” As a passionate advocate for animals, Mr. Silverberg volunteered for the Detroit chapter of the National Humane Society for 10 years. He was the father of Margo Mintz, Alan (Beth) Silverberg, and the late Karen (Gary) Silverberg Courval; grandfather of Nia Courval and Max Courval; son of Ethel Opperman and Harris Silverberg; brother of the late Lois Silverberg Seltzer; uncle to Murray, Steven, and Harris Seltzer; brother- in-law of Lloyd Seltzer; former husband of Lynne Master of Huntington Woods. Solomon SHELIA JOYCE SOLOMON, 84, of West Bloomfield, died July 19, 2016. She is survived by her son and daughter- in-law, Daniel Solomon and Laura Dove of Alexandria, Va.; grandchildren, Abigail and Jacob Solomon; brother, Marvin Cohen; nieces and nephews, Samantha, Bradley, Debbie and Ronald; sisters-in-law, Barbara Cohen and Karen Cohen Tessler; loving caregivers and friends, Stacy Foley and Ilene Adler.
