Elana (Epstein) and Yossi Gottfried of Southfield are thrilled to
announce the birth of their daughter, Tamar Rivka. She is adored
by her big sisters, Ariella, Sarah Minna and Leah. Tamar is the
granddaughter of Lawrence and Natalie Lipnik of West Bloomfield,
and Shelley and Stuart Epstein of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Her great-
grandparents are Carl and Lorelei Lipnik of West Bloomfield, and
Naomi Gottfried of Jerusalem, Israel. Tamar’s name represents traits
of assertiveness and loyalty, and unwillingness to be conventional as
set down in the Torah.

Tyler Seth Shanbom,
son of Sherry and
Steve Shanbom, led
the congregation in
prayer on the occa-
sion of his bar mitz-
vah at Temple Israel
in West Bloomfield
Shanbom
on Saturday, June 18.
He was joined in cele-
bration by his brother
Cory and proud grandmother Patricia
Shanbom. Tyler is also the grandchild
of the late Irving Shanbom and the late
Ella and Ludwig Berman.
Tyler attends Eton Academy in
Birmingham. His most meaningful
mitzvah project involved volunteering
for the Detroit-based PeerCorps in the
Brightmoor district, working in the
garden and helping to facilitate com-
munity events.

Molly Paris
Warshawsky, daughter
of Stacy Renee Keywell
and David
Warshawsky, will lead
the congregation in
prayer on the occasion
of her bat mitzvah at
Warshawsky
Temple Israel in West
Bloomfield on
Saturday, July 2. She
will be joined in celebration by her sister
Cameron and proud grandparents
Claudia and Edward Keywell, and Simon
Warshawsky. Molly is also the grandchild
of the late Geraldine Warshawsky.
Molly is a student at Pierce Middle
School in Waterford. As part of her mitz-
vah project, she inspired and co-founded
the non profit movement Project Love
Without Labels, which tackles social stig-
mas and bullying and encourages cultural
acceptance. She found this to be a very
meaningful and rewarding experience.
