Hillel Happenings

EMU: On April 14, Hillel at Eastern Michigan University
hosted author and blogger, Caitlin Boyle. Creator of
Operation Beautiful, Caitlin has dedicated her work to
promoting self-esteem and building confidence in yourself
and others through Post-it messages. Her presentation at
EMU focused on the history of Operation Beautiful, ending
negative self-talk and teaching students how to craft their
own “healthy ideal.” Author and blogger Caitlin Boyle poses
with juniors Claudia Halpern, Hillel@EMU president, and
Shira Starr, both of Farmington Hills.

More than 700 students attended Sparty’s Bar Mitzvah Party 2016:
Sparty Jam. Students enjoyed dancing, free food, giveaways and
even hoisted Sparty up on a chair during a rousing rendition of
“Hava Nagila.”

Kalamazoo College: The Jewish Student Organization at Kalamazoo
College hosted its annual Passover Seder on April 27. Students,
faculty and community members joined together to participate in
a hand-crafted seder and catered meal. Senior Jacob Cargal-Bley of
Seattle, Wash., welcomes the crowd.
