obituaries » Obituaries from page 64 MARTIN WEISS, 93, of West Bloomfield, died June 5, 2016. Martin came to the United States in 1947. Weiss He married his beloved Sue in 1951 and then began his career in 1953, when he opened his first bakery on Chene Street in Detroit. He continued to open an addi- tional five locations of Modern Bakery. Mr. Weiss was an active mem- ber and supporter of Congregation B’nai Moshe, its men’s club, Einstein Lodge of B’nai B’rith, American Magan David Adom, the Jewish Community Center and the Holocaust Memorial Center in Farmington Hills. He is survived by his son, Steve Weiss of Rochester Hills; daughter, Lori Weiss of West Bloomfield; grandchildren, Brooke Weiss, Kristen Weiss; other loving family members and friends. Mr. Weiss was the beloved hus- band for nearly 62 years of the late Sue Weiss; the loving son of the late Libby and the late Abraham Psache Weiss. He was also predeceased by siblings who died during the Holocaust: Sam, Goldie, Esther and Rachel. Acher’s family went to Israel, where he became an army veteran. After coming to the United States, he founded and owned Ben-Moche ABM Tool and Die for more than 30 years. Mr. Ben-Moche is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Libby Ben-Moche of Farmington Hills; children, Joel and Marci Ben-Moche of West Bloomfield, Aimee and Richard Simtob, also of West Bloomfield; grandchildren, Erin Ben-Moche, Adam Ben-Moche, Brooke Simtob and Brad Simtob; siblings, Sonya and Shlomo Tibi of Israel and David Ben-Moche, also of Israel; loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She received a master’s in education from Wayne State University and then taught psychology and social studies as an Oak Park High School teacher. Gant Mrs. Gant was known as the “Coupon Queen of Oak Park” and was written about in an article in the Detroit News. She was also an accomplished violinist and was first violinist in the Wayne State Orchestra. She is survived by her children, Linda Sue and Michael Goudman of Southfield and Sharon Janis of California; other loving relatives and friends. Mrs. Gant was the beloved wife for 40 years of the late Martin Gant. Interment was at Nusach Hari Cemetery.
