University Prof. Joy Ladin, speaking on “In the
Beginning: At the Intersection of Trans and Jewish
Identities. ” The first openly transgendered employee
at an Orthodox institution, Ladin was a finalist for the
2012 National Jewish Book Award for her memoir,
Through the Doors of Life: A Jewish Journey Between
